Every room needs a touch of black ..

Every room needs a touch of black, just as it needs at least one antique piece

In this blog we explore this quote by influential Dallas born Interior Designer Jan Showers.

Black I Noir I #000000

Black is the darkest possible colour. The perception of black is evoked by the total absence of light that stimulates any of the three types of color sensitive cone cells in the human eye and with very low brightness compared to the surroundings. A black visual stimulation will be void of hue and greyness.

Black can invigorate a room, making a design statement and adding a touch of glamour. This can be achieved by introducing black paint, wallpaper or fabric into a scheme. However, the addition of a decorative black piece can lift a room, adding style without the risk of dominance.
